OMG : old wine in new bottle 
 Oh My God is a 2012 Bollywood satirical-comedy-drama movie that satires organized religion directed by Umesh Shukla. 
The movie's story is about the atheist who owns idol shops (mainly hindu god idols )and his arguments asking god to pay for his shop's damage in earthquake.He decides to ask to pay penalty to god because  insurance company replies him that earthquake comes under act of god for which insurance company is not liable to pay back to its customers.And then kanji decides to fight legal battle against god who caues damaged to his shop.The story revolves around kanjilal's character , his atheism and making fool of people to sell idols ,his decision of sending legal notice to god and agents o god means priests of different religions , his emotional struggle with family , Gods entrance in his life .
Story of filing case against god and opposition by priests , societal pressure are shown in typically Bollywood manner , the heroism which kanji's character gets after proving his some points in court is now generally used to many film to highlight importance of mass media in contemporary times.In one scene where kanji inspecting  demolished site of his shop with his colleague and kanji fights  with his rest family over his act of blaming the god in front of public.Wise man whos  source of income is demolished would care about the the shop wont fight with family that too in public.some times Director using old used formula to attract the audience that is dance sequel by sonalshi and  Prabhu Deva .
Movie fails to establish emotional relationship between god and kanji.In last scenes only we came to know the relationship between god and kanji the protagonist in the movie.It would be more entertaining if audience were exposed 

India Against System ? 
Since the last year number of NGO's gather under the banner of India Against Corruption to fight against scams and scandals happening in country mostly by political leaders. The last year in 2011 when India won the world cup after that there was empty space in media at the same time there was campaign by this group of NGO's started in Jantar Mantar to amend Lokpal Bill. Delhi based news channels give exclusive and wide coverage to their protest , surprisingly after the ,media exposure supporters drastically increased and the movement went become mass movement ,there are some more points to look out 
1) Electronic Media's helping hand - 
After the media exclusive coverage and time to time update about the movement it became "event" were some people came just to get opportunity to screen on TV, there were food stalls ,people came in freedom fighter's attire, celebrity turning up on the stage shouting slogans against corruption , By seeing this drama many people posted this video on social networking sites ,discussing started over it this all happened because of electronic media's attention.
2)Anti Politician Attitude 
Generally we are told in India politics is last stop of all gunda's so many people just hate politics and politicians , they dont vote and completely negative approach towards he system unfortunately that class is middle class and upper middle class .IAC put forwards this thought only in different tone of Lokpal and asking government to change the system
3)Organizers’ failure 
The movement did not have clear cut ideology or program to give to their supporters .The only demand was for Lokpal bill and to punish corrupt politicians but movement did not talk about corruption in the other fields may be to secure their funds .Failure of these resulted in violence against media who showed faults of the movement from the battle ground ,many considered shouting slogan or candle march will work to amend lokpal and to punish the corrupt politicians but it did not worked . Organisers and leaders were only busy in gathering more and more people and gaining media attention and to remain in lime light , they fail to give ideological , long lasting structural base to the movement which will keep the spirit even if movement stops.
4)Political Party
After constant criticism on the system by the agitators , many asked them to come in the system and change then gave them challenge and it was necessary after the point when IAC was possessing extreme cynicism about the system .Many of the leaders want to work as a pressure group which will not join politics but look after the politics and take center stage to guide the common people and raised voice as a watchdog or whistle blower. Mostly senior members like anna , justice hedge , kiran bedi were not ready for electoral politics.The young blood in the organisation want to challenge established politicians by bringing so called common man in electoral politics , Kejrial by that time became important leader of the IAC .Many of political activist advised him instead of working as mere pressure group they need to join politics and give their supporters option in election in order to bring reform they want to. Forming political was never on the agenda of the movement agenda was amending lokpal to reduce corruption .

However kejriwal cant go in Indian Public with India Against Corruption name , they are working on the name till date.Kejriwal started his by party without announcing its name how strange it sounds !Kejriwal is now putting corruption charges on dominant and influential leaders in many parties.The name decides border for their party that is party will only to fight corruption its has not spoken its take on other matter such as social and religious issues .Only grabbing media attention can give them eyeballs not strong base , ideology ,structure to run a party

               टीम अन्ना ने मंच वरून संसदेचा अतिशय  प्रखर शब्दात  निषेध  केला.जमा  झालेल्या समर्थकांना योग्य तो कार्यक्रम टीम अन्न ने दिला नाही .मोर्चा , निषेध , टीका , राजीनाम्य ची मागणी ह्या सारख्या तात्कालिक गोष्टींवर  वर भर दिला .ह्या चा परिणाम म्हणजे इंडिया अगेन्स्ट करप्शन समर्थक सरकार वर कोणत्याही पातळीवर टीका करण्यास शिकले .ह्या सगळ्या चा फलित  म्हणजे  त्रिवेदी ह्यांनी संसदेला संडासाच्या रुपात दाखवले .एकेकाळी संसदेला लोकशाही चे मंदिर म्हणण्यात आले होते आणि आता त्या चे असे रूप भागण्यास मिळत आहे .राजकारणी कितीही जरी वाईट भ्रष्ट असले तरी त्या चा अर्थ संसद आणि राष्ट्रीय चिन्हांवर खालच्या दर्ज्यावर जावून टीका करणे हा मार्ग होत नाही .ते निषेधार्य नक्कीच आहे , पण त्या वर देशद्रोहा सारखे गुन्हे लावणे म्हणजे अभिव्यक्ती स्वतंत्र वर हातोडाच आहे .१०० टक्के दिशा हीन सरकार  ला आता की करावे हे सुचत नसल्याने आपल्या विरुद्ध बोलणाऱ्या कलाकार , पत्रकार ह्यांना त्रास देण्या चा सरकार चा विचार दिसतो .ह्या प्रकारे अटक करून आपल्या वरील भ्रष्टाचार च्या अप्रोपा वरून लक्ष्य विचलित करण्याचा सरकारच्या डाव आहे   म्हणतात न "if you cant convince them confuse them "

New political situation -
Raj thackray is giving controversial comments on almost every event in maharashtra  earlier it was not like this .There is clear cut agenda behind this raj's action earlier raj's party was only working to get the votes of the people who want to try new political option and party was functioning as eating up votes in election.Now when there lack of opposition from opposition raj is becoming unofficial opposition in state and that too by public's choice.
                     Recently Raj Thackeray met shivsena leader and his cousin uddhav thackray , he met to ask about uddhav's health.In shivsena two main leaders balasaheb and uddhav are just recovering from major surgeries and it will take time to run party as earlier .Balasaheb is now very old and can not work as he used to be.Uddhav's style of operation sena is totally different from his father.Many party workers are having difficulties to coping up with uddhav's way and are actually liking Raj's aggressive way.In future time it might happen that both this parties come together and that will form alliance and they move out RPI from the alliance.BJP will only be hurdle for MNS and Shivsena if they want to get into alliance.BJP vote bank and Shivsena's vote bank is fairy same ,so shivsena might be playing hindutva card to that vote bank and make our vote bank sure about them.

IBN lokmat prime time debate –

IBN lokmat is collaboration of network 18 ‘s IBM and lokmat group.This channel launched 5 years back and it was second Marathi 24 by 7 news channel .This channel headed by well known Marathi journalist Mr.Nikhil Wagale .

“Aaj cha sawal “(todays question) is the name of prime time debate show of this program. This comes on 10 pm Nikhil Wagale anchors the show. As other show this show invites all the related , concerned people .First anchor introduce the topic then sometimes video or news about the topic is shown and later debate starts .Show that 5-6 breaks and show is nearly runs for one hours , this program has given more importance as compared to other channels who rum debate show for 30 minutes or two debate for 20 -20 minutes .Nikhil wagale sometimes criticized for domination over the debate but sometimes to handle fight panelist it is necessary .When Nikhil Wagale is not available then Alka Dhupkar handles the show .Many people tune on this show to watch Nikhil Wagale on this show , one can say that he is the USP of this show.

Loksatta  is Marathi daily of express group .Express group follows certain values for journalism those we can see in any medium of their media house. Loksatta’s  slogan is “lokmanya lokshakti that is well accepted power of the people .Loksatta has been political balanced and always projected itself as a intellectual newspaper. Editorials in this paper are following different page layout .In this paper Editorials come on 9^th page , it has only one editorial below that they carry article on current topic by journalist or  people who are aware of current topic. There are two more columns on current topics which are type of editorial but given less important .Below that there is article on spirituality by “chaitanya prem” , he basically writes about hindu spirituality .Besides that they have a cartoon column there.

Editorials are usually carry centralist view point .Feature article which comes under main editorials are always worth reading , generally senior journalist like sunil chavke , prashant dixit writes in this space , on Saturday girish kuber editor of loksatta writes .Once in a week journalist frm paper its self writes on blog posted by people in Marathi to connect to e world and publicize  good writing. However editorial page of this page is most read according to one survey, one can easily get the reason by having look on the content

Book review of  Novel Shala -
For a long time writing for teenagers did not come into existence in Marathi Literature .There were  stereotypes in Marathi writers about the kids , many intentionally portrayed kids character as obedient , hardworking ,scholar tamhankar's character gotya was one of them.In this backdrop novels like shala really bringing reality into Marathi novel.
                                   The story of a novel revolves about emotional world of 9th standard kids.In this novel  coming of age thing is there  , how social perspective , psychological perspective of a newly teen boy changes is beautifully shown. Characterization goes well with the story in joshya's group surya is shown as rough and tough boy who comes in school just to enjoy least interestd in studies but when it comes to painting or sports he is the master.Joshya's another friend favdya is average student who is good at sport have presence of mind , comes from poor background. Chitrya is smartest kid amongst them and he is closet friend of joshi , both of them often shares secrets to one another.
                             Story starts with description of protagonist Mukund Joshi's village .He describes his village , his relation with his village , small hill in his village.Later Mukund introduces his friends , Surya, chitre & Favdya,heir beloved adda  to their favorite place to gather and have fun before going to school .Story starts when Mukund who has pet names  joshya in friends started liking miss .shirodkar , his classmate.He secretly tries to impress her.Story happens during whole year of 9th standard.Joshi secretly keeps eye on his crush shirodkar , keeps updated information about her , join private tuition in which his crush learns.Joshi learns trick to impress a girl from his maternal uncle naru mama who teaches english in local college.Naru mama is love guru who is friend, philosopher, guide to Mukund.Story goes forward and many events occur which shook mukunds world.

                         However the period in which is takes place is 70's during emergency this story takes place.Cultural contexts are used effectively.Author is succeeded in showing every aspect of joshya's character his nostalgia about surrounding , his interpretation of events , handing different persons differently , his desire to get shirodkar , his relation with Naru mama all are covered beautifully.In the end when all his friends leaves him alone in going in 10th standard  due to different reasons and he loses contact with his crush , joshya cries and monologues ,'we have our own school in our mind that has no boundary , learning in that school is very very beautiful.'Friends departure from joshi's life  and rice fields in the villege which joshi used to like are sold to make   chawls are shown to have effect of loss of life , friendship.To experience one on the realistic effort to showcase life in emergency through the eyes of teenage boy and his interpretation , emotions this book is must.

OLD MONKS -
Our country is so much spiritual that if you switch on TV early morning you will find so called  spiritual  leaders delivering messages to audience on majority TV channels , FM channels.Every channel has one hired spiritual leader , this is case with general entertainment channels like sony,z tv etc not in case with music channels.News channels hire astrologers to update their viewers about how their rashi , respective planets going to affect their day business.
Spiritual leaders with help of their rich institutions have established themselves in media industry , they have separate channels like aastha , sanskar, dharma etc.Spiritual guru's like ramdev, aasaram are not running NGO they are running kind of company which sells goods for religional practices , like companies. Theses people have large funding , land allocated to different departments , here followers work to please leader just to increase their importance in the institution.Majority of these so called spiritual leader's institutions have property worth crores while real NGO are lack of findings in India.

In India people always want someone who guides them about spirituality , teach them how to live better being a monk ,so many take advantage of these factors dress like monks and run their spiritual business and make money out of it . Those are now agitating against black money are themselves not cleared income tax departments's necessary documents Before following anyone one should cross that person , ask you consciousness what is correct and what is not 

how artificial Bollywood is 

I just saw trailers of Teri Meri Kahaani .The tagline is "thrice upon a love story", as the premise is set between 1910, 1960, and 2012.However there must be song according to the so called rules of bollywood masala films. There is a song "hum se pyar karle tu "in which shahid  seen dancing with group of boys and opposite to them priyanka chopra heroine of the movie dancing with gang of girls.

I was stunned by watching this. Period in which this drama takes place is said to be 1910, is the filmmaker is so stupid to ignore the fact that in that period women in India were not allowed to talk loudly in public forget about dancing in mob that too in street.Either film maker is unaware of this fact or he just want to sell his product so called artifact .

We usually observe such stupidity in Bollywood films , film makers here just want to make movies for mass audience and to fooling typical emotional audience.We have talent but some of our film makers are not using it to enhance of level of entertainment. There parallel theater and films are working on abstract concepts which commons can not easily get . There is only one amir khan in Bollywood who finds golden mean between social and commercial film , and thousands like SRK self proclaimed kings.

 Satyamev Jayate(indian telesion show) ...it had everything good anchoring , real life stories ,evidence , relevance , emotions , music , social awakening , message ,made in India concept of the show...if artist make proper use of television medium it may work in changing the image of TV from idiot box to informative box.

                    The show is kind of chat show based on social more specifically  domestic issues which could be avoided by counseling .Amir and his team trying to show and highlight the social problems which could be avoided by common man by possessing scientific knowledge  .However amir knows the family is the base of Indian society no matter what you religion is , he is trying to show issues to which large number of Indians are affected or could be affected .However Amir has not yet touched the issues which can only be solved by government like naxalism .The topic selection and its presentation is nice.Following are the sequence which show follows
1) Amir appears on TV sitting on steps just to make people feel Amir as their friend , philosopher, guide and not a superstar
2)Before starting the actual issue Amir gives his real life experience related to issue and increase his familiarity to audience and to issue
3)Amir gives introduction to the issue and explains with charts and statistics 
4)Amir invites 3 victims one after another of the issue to talk about before that audience are shown video clips which explains abut that person
5)Amir then invites lawyer, doctor, N.G.O to talk on the issue and different aspects are exposed to the audience
6)Amir then give concluding speech , give advice and and invites his artist to perform a song over a issue (generally it is seen that audience really get touched by the song and often cry )


The show reaches to audience through all the  channels of star including regional (with regional subtitles) as well as it broadcasts on dooordarshan.Amir chose non prime time TV slot to broadcast the show....show will be on sunday morning ..program will be of 13 episodes in which 10 have been shot ...and few episodes have tested on dumpy audience ...and re -produced 1st episode coz that was nt got favorable reply from sample target

Amir becomes emotional when victims tell their story

          It is criticism on the show that show has not showed the interviews of the persons who had committed crimes  a balanced show critics wants to see the other side of the crime .
The main unique selling point of the show is emotions as Amir khan says in advertisements “dil pe lagne chahiye” mr.khan is successful in provoking the emotions and causing people to think over the message .Songs are played at the end of episode are hits on you tube ,”oo re chiraiya “ by swanand kirkire for female infanticide, foeticide and “haule haule” by ram sampat on child sexual abuse are mind blowing and deserves standing ovation
However this is one of the sensible and informative sow on Indian television , I personally don’t miss single frame of this programme  , I hope will surely cause audience to think and make them introspective

Dil Dosti Etc 

Our bollywood movies many times showed us unreal world .If film maker want to show college life then he shows happy go lucky groups with stereotyped characters. (1 stud , 1 diva , 1 nerd , 1 fatso ,1 simple girl,1 tomboyish girl pick up any random movie you will find this characters with or less difference)friendship is also been sweetened by bollywood , 2 or 3 best friends ready to sacrifice their lives singing songs.

In this backdrop some films are exceptionally well .Dil dosti etc is one of them .In this film story has been told by semi narrative way , one character of the story , apurv tells the story of his college life  .He belongs to rich business family , freedom seeking , somewhat introvert , flirtatious , searching meaning in every action that satisfies him.The main protagonist is sanjay mishra character played by shreyas talpade . He is bihari middle class student, some what conservative ,studying delhi university , IAS candidate but interested in college election and general politics .

story revolves around them .story goes like this

Apurva meets sanjay during ragging sessions , got familiar with him later got in to sanjay's close friends circle . Apurv , well in impressing girls , he meets one school girl called kintu in book store and started dating her , he used to go to brothel and later involved in sex worker "vaishali ".On the other side sanjay come across model  cum college student prerna  falls in love with her. Due to middle class values followed by sanjay , rich  modern prerna had fights with sanjay and some what start getting attracted to his friend apurv .Apurv doesnt mind flirting with his friends girl friend.At last when sanjay wins the election he search for his gf prerna and friend apurv . sanjay finds them in a room got shocked ask them reason for doing this sadly and angryly , he goes out and mysteriously found out dead on the streets.

However story deals with mentalities of the people belong from different social strata's . middle class values are always is subject of condemn for rich and vice a versa .I think problem lies here both groups maybe seeking dominance over the society and that's why the struggle is fight for survival .Being a boy who raised in middle class conservative family i can relate my self to sunjay's character not with apurv's character .In this struggle between mentalities , i found sunjay's view was right , i felt apurv's character is only good at exploiting the things and just want to use each and every thing   for personal enjoyment .

Sanjay's honesty in love , his greed for power really impressed me is the effect of the protagonist  portrayal of the role or is the effect of moral values imposed

Raktacharitra and Gangs of wasseypur : similarities and differences 
Revenge is the purest emotion as mentioned in Mahabharat Raktacharitra and Gangs of wasseypur are the movies which basically talk about revenge.In these two movie protagonist kill people , abuse them badly , reach high point in cruelty but they have enough reasons to get sympathy and because of those reasons its ok with the audience even if protagonist kill innocent people.It is said ' If you argue correctly you are never wrong ' this is 100% true in this case.

However both these movies are dealing with post Independence era and power struggle.Raktachritra is about Paritala Ravi criminal turned politician from Andhra Pradesh who takes revenge of murder of his father and brother.Gangs of wassepur(GOW) is power stuggle between pathans , Qureshi and Ramadir singh .The basic difference between two movies is  Raktacharitra is for masses and GOW is for masses.The reasons provided for voilence in Raktacharitra are too simplified and one can easily follow the story that is killing pratap ravi's father and brother.In G.O.W.  killing of sardar khan's father is shown  but one needs to understand why sardar khan think he will not shoot Ramadir singh instead he says "kehke loonga "(will take revenge) .

In Raktcharitra pratap ravi's father shwon as Dalit leader who unites Dalit people living in anadpur  to fight against local MLA Naagmani readdy. In further scenes in movies struggle between Dalits and landlords is missing , two clans only fight for survival , revenge and for supremacy .In GOW Qureshi , Pathans are main rival but Ramadir singh emerges as a landlord,businessman,politicians who stirs the situation and become bahubali of the area.

Later Pathan fights with singh as well as Qureshi's to dominate the region.

The difference between protagonist is very interesting . Ravi's character in Raktcharitra is shown as man of his principles , there is scene where Ravi's girlfriend asks him ,'why didnt you say no to my father when he asked you do you believe in god, you could have answered yes and impressed my father.Ravi replies to her saying ,"I dont do things which I dont like "

Director has tried to collect moral support for the character for the violence he will be performing in later parts of the film.

Extremist and society

Men and women do not usally mingle in the ultra religious Afghanistan unless they are related and praties involving both genders are are and secret affairs.The Taliban during their rule from 1996-2001, had banned all the entertainment ,including tv and music and barred women from working , interacting with men other than family and leaving home unescorted by a male relative(Time Of India 28august 2012).

If we look at the extremist all over the world we can easily draw many common points

• ·         Extremists are always rigid , do not ready to change
• ·         World should run according to their will
• ·         Securing their interest is more important than others
• ·         According to them women must abide by all the norms to protect culture
• ·         They criticize others culture , try to others culture out of their community

Above are the similarities which extremist all over the world share. Like in India Shriram sena attacked youngsters who are coming out of club in Bangalore , the reason given was party goers were not in decent cloths. Now question arises what is correct measure for decency ? and in democratic republic country like India don’t we have a right to wear anything that comforts us ?

Extremist grow because there are sections in every society which are not happy with the changing situations they are orthodox which like to live in past. These extremist people take advantage of this and propose false ideology with using irrelevant information and weird logic. In  order to avoid this government must start direct dialogue with citizens .Some politicians have started what they called as “janata darbar” but is this kingdom and is leader a king to call it as a darbar ?There must be initiative for dialogues not for address.

Recently Mumbai police arrested criminals involved in raza academy riots , many of them are under 20, misguided by extremist ideologies .Instead of  filing criminal charges police offered them counseling. This was purposely done to show them how they were wrong and make sure they themselves will not attempt same things and will prevent others from doing it. That’s the power of dialogue  and a way to end extremism . 

Dahihandi - festival / sport / event ?????   what should we call ?

India is a country where politicians are lack of funds to build road , toilets but they have always money to spend on festivals rather showbizz evet such as Dahihandi.

                          Since last few years Dahihandi festival is growing like an inflation in Mumbai and its suburbs.Till now all the gullys , roads have their own Dahihandi , So when dahihandi festival comes political parties revive their so called charities and arrange competition.Main agenda behind all the political leaders arranging dahihandi competition is just get their name famous in their constituency.Without following moral restrictions and social responsibility over political parties all support and spend lakhs on the festival.

                          Some times govinda"s  (male/devotee player who takes part in the festival ), gopika (female player/devotee )gets hurt during performing their skills.Being marketeer rather than organizer spends more on marketing of the event rather safety.It is to good hear that some organisers are provided vima security to the players.

                         There is nothing wrong in marketing ones culture in limit USA have been doing it  since many decades .Dahihandi is not only hindu culture its India's culture we need to take to the world with removing unfair practices.Some politicians want to establish this as a sport .(huush ...good they are doing something).I think it can be sport but to include dahihandi in athletics, players , authorities , bodies need to work harder .
